St. Bernadette School was awarded Level 1 Green School status through the King County Green Schools Program for our recycling and waste reduction efforts. Thank you to our student green team, Mr. Jensen, Jenna Smith and Kelsi Franzen for helping us achieve this status! Our school was presented with a certificate of achievement, a school banner and a new web icon shown on the right hand side of this page. Here is a link to the news release:
From Strength to Strength: A Strategic Plan for 21st Century Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of
On February 11th, Archbishop Sartain approved the strategic plan for strengthening the mission of Catholic schools, which was developed through a year-long process in 2013, with the assistance of ACE Consulting of Notre Dame. The plan, keyed to the four themes of our mission, contains 33 actions and 124 tasks. The plan is inspired by the importance and the great gift of our 74 Catholic schools! Our 5th grade students, along with other local Catholic Schools, will go to Camp Waskowitz for the week. They will learn about WA state and our local environment and how they can be good stewards of our environment.
The Amici group will be returning once again to St. Bernadette School to finish painting our primary building. The Amici group is a group of young professional Catholics who provide service projects to schools throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle. They would love parent volunteers to help them paint the upper portion of the hallway and trim. Please email our Parent Volunteer Coordinator, Caroline Simerly to sign up: email@example.com
Students are allowed to come to school in free dress in exchange for 2 cans of food or $1.00. Money collected will help our sister school in Guatemala and food donated will go to our St. Vincent de Paul conference to help local families in need.
All middle school students will be presenting their science projects this evening. A panel of judges will be awarding first, second, third and honorable mention ribbons. If you would like to volunteer or need additional information, please email Ms. Vu at: firstname.lastname@example.org
8th grade students will have their graduation pictures taken by Lifetouch Photography at 10:00 AM in the Church. 8th graders are allowed to wear semi-formal dress attire on this day. Wear your Sunday's best!
