    • Level 1 King County Green School
      St. Bernadette School was awarded Level 1 Green School status through the King County Green Schools Program for our recycling and waste reduction efforts.  Thank you to our student green team, Mr. Jensen, Jenna Smith and Kelsi Franzen for helping us achieve this status!  Our school was presented with a certificate of achievement, a school banner and a new web icon shown on the right hand side of this page.     • From Strength to Strength: A Strategic Plan for 21st Century Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Seattle
      On February 11th, Archbishop Sartain approved the strategic plan for strengthening the mission of Catholic schools, which was developed through a year-long process in 2013, with the assistance of ACE Consulting of Notre Dame. The plan, keyed to the four themes of our mission, contains 33 actions and 124 tasks. The plan is inspired by the importance and the great gift of our 74 Catholic schools!  Click here to view the document.

        The end of our first trimester is quickly approaching. Report cards will be going home on December 18th. Please make sure to check your child's grades via your Powerschool Parent Portal on a weekly basis.

        Every Advent, Fr. Mike meets with each student in grades 3rd-8th to offer them the Sacrament of Reconciliation in preparation for the coming of our Lord. This experience supports them in their spiritual journey.         Students in grades 4th-8th are encouraged to participate in our student Chaplet of Divine Mercy every Tuesday during Advent. We will meet in the Church at 12:30 PM.

        St. Bernadette School is a recognized Level 1 King County Green School. This year, we continue to have a student green team composed of 1st-8th grade students. Mrs. Smith, a first grade parent will lead this team in bringing greater awareness to our entire school community!

        All Spanish-speaking families are welcome to attend our first Latino Family Night in the Parish Hall at 6:00 PM. This informal meeting will allow us time to get to know other Spanish speaking families in our school community. Come and learn more about our school program, financial aid opportunities and more.

        Our Parents’ Club will be kicking off their Christmas Décor sale on Saturday, December 6th at the Kennedy Arts & Crafts Sale. Stop by the Kennedy Catholic gym anytime between the hours of 9:00-4:00 PM to partake in this holiday celebration. Our Parent’s Club will be selling a variety of ornaments, garlands, tree skirts and other fun decorative items. 100% of the proceeds raised will go directly to our school! Thank you to Kennedy Catholic Highschool and the Etzkorn and DiOrio family for making this possible. *Remaining items will be sold before and after school at the SCRIP table from December 8th until they’re gone!!!!

        Welcome to our new Superintendent of Catholic Schools: Dr. Patrick Haggarty. Dr. Haggarty succeeds Father Stephen Rowan, a priest of the Archdiocese of Seattle, who served as superintendent for Catholic schools since 2012. Dr. Haggarty was the Superintendent of Helena Catholic schools for eight years beginning in 2002 and became superintendent of all Montana Catholic schools in 2010. His local ties include teaching sixth- and seventh-grade social studies at Seattle’s St. Anne Catholic School from 1988 to 1990. Welcome Dr. Haggarty to St. Bernadette School!

        Join us at our annual St. Bernadette Parish School Christmas Program! All students in K-8th grade will perform in the Church starting promptly at 6:30 PM. Students should be dropped off at their classrooms no later than 6:15 PM. Attendance is mandatory and students will be given a performance grade for music class. If an emergency should arise, please email Ms. Peila immediately at: kpeila@stbernadettesea.org. Thank you for your participation and we hope to see you there!

        Students are allowed to wear free dress on this day in exchange for $1.00 or 2 cans of food. Money collected will help support our sister school in Guatemala, San Jose Pacul. Food collected will be a donated to our St. Vincent de Paul conference to help local families in need this holiday season.
