Monday, August 31, is a noon dismissal day. Please plan accordingly for pick-up. 

Lower School Morning Drop-Off PS – 3rd Grade 

Lower School students should be dropped off at the blacktop/playground area behind the school, accessed by car through the alley. This is the drop-off area behind the school, on the playground, not the main entrance near the church. 

Once you arrive on the blacktop, please look for your child’s grade-level sign. Each class will have a clearly marked line-up location, and staff members will be outside Monday morning to help direct families. 

Students must remain supervised by an adult until 8:15 a.m. Please do not leave students unattended on the blacktop. At 8:15, teachers will meet their classes outside and walk students into the building together. 

When driving through the blacktop drop-off area, please pull all the way forward in the line before stopping so that traffic can continue moving safely. Please drive slowly, follow staff directions, and always stop for pedestrians at the crosswalk. 

Students who arrive after 8:15 a.m. should enter through the main school entrance near the office and walk to their classrooms. Students arriving after the 8:25 a.m. bell must first stop in the school office to check in. 

The gates on the playground close at 8:30 a.m. so all vehicles must be off the playground by then. If you arrive after 8:30 a.m., students will need to enter school through the front doors of school, next to the flagpole. 

All PS and PK students need to walk with parents/guardians to their classroom to sign in every morning. Please park on the playground and use the crosswalk. 

For the first day of school on Monday, Lower School families are welcome to park, walk with their students to the class line-up area, take those special first-day pictures, and say goodbye before teachers bring students inside. 

Upper School Morning Drop Off – Grades 4-8

Upper School students should arrive at the front doors of the school near the church. Students may wait calmly outside, with parent supervision, until the doors open at 8:15 a.m., unless they are attending Extended Day, which is not open on Monday. 

Beginning Monday, parents will say goodbye outside rather than walking students to their classrooms. Members of our administration and staff will be present to welcome students, help them find where they need to go, and make sure everyone gets settled. 

Students arriving after 8:15 a.m. should enter through the front doors of the school near the church. Students arriving after the 8:25 a.m. bell must check in at the school office before going to class. 

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Safety 

We know arrival and dismissal can be busy, particularly during the first few days of school. Thank you in advance for your patience and for helping us keep everyone safe. 

Please: 

• Drive slowly and cautiously at all times on campus. 

• Follow the cones, traffic flow, and directions of staff members. 

• Pull all the way forward rather than stopping as soon as you see your child. 

• Stop for pedestrians at the crosswalk. 

• Keep the traffic lane moving and avoid blocking other vehicles. 

At dismissal, students will remain with their teachers until they are released. Students may not walk between cars or enter a vehicle until that vehicle has moved to the front of the pick-up line and a staff member directs the student to the car. Even when students see their families, we need them to wait for teacher direction. This is an important part of keeping everyone safe. 

If your student is not yet at the pick-up area when you reach the front of the line, please follow staff directions and circle around rather than waiting and holding up traffic. 

If someone other than a parent or guardian will be picking up your child, please make sure the school has been notified in advance. We cannot release students to another adult without parent/guardian permission. 

Please also make sure backpacks, water bottles, sweatshirts, and other belongings are clearly labeled with your child’s name. The first few weeks of school have a remarkable way of filling our Lost & Found! 

Thank you for partnering with us as we establish these routines. The first few days always require a little extra patience as everyone learns the flow, but consistency will help make arrival and dismissal safer and smoother for our entire community.
