Raised on Bainbridge Island with a lifelong foundation in fitness and tennis, she is a Certified PTR and PPR instructor and an experienced coach who has worked with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. She also serves as the Head Coach for Boys’ Tennis at O’Dea High School and currently leads youth pickleball exploratory program at St. Joseph School three days a week. In addition, Coach Wood is the Family Pickleball Coordinator at the Washington Athletic Club, where she designs fun, multi-generational movement experiences that build confidence and connection. With a strong background in youth development and community leadership and former Executive Director of the Bainbridge Island Boys & Girls Club, she believes every child can succeed in physical education when learning is active, positive, and encouraging. She is a proud mother of three daughters—Gabby (Bishop Blanchet HS ’24) at UC Santa Barbara, Maggie, a senior at Bishop Blanchet, and Mary Grace, a sophomore at Bishop Blanchet. All three of her girls are sport-minded and participate as teammates in cross country, flag football, and tennis! In the summer, Coach Wood coaches privately and runs her seasonal business on Bainbridge Island, Frog Rock Pickleball Tours. Outside of school, she enjoys volunteering for Shirts Across America, traveling, skiing, hiking, and spending time outdoors with her family and their black lab, Boomer.
